Aura is designed for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
When you create an account and use Aura, you may provide us with:
- Account Information: Phone number, name, date of birth, email address, and gender identity.
- Profile Information: Photos, voice recordings (voice intros and pod date recordings), biographical details, personality quiz responses, interests, and preferences (including relationship goals, lifestyle choices, and dealbreakers).
- Communication Data: Messages, voice conversations during Pod Dates, and any content you share with other users through the Service.
- Subscription Information: If you purchase Aura Premium, we process your payment through Google Play or Apple App Store. We do not directly store your credit card or payment details.
- Support Requests: Information you provide when contacting our support team.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use Aura, we automatically collect:
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Location Data: With your permission, we collect your approximate location (city-level) to show you nearby matches. We also support a "Travel Mode" feature that uses a location you manually set. We do not continuously track your precise GPS location.
- Usage Data: How you interact with the app, including screens viewed, features used, time spent, and actions taken (such as matches, Pod Dates initiated, and profile views).
- Log Data: IP address, browser type, access times, and referring URLs.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Authentication Providers: If you sign in using a third-party service (e.g., phone verification via SMS), we receive your phone number and verification status.
- Analytics Partners: We may receive aggregated analytics data from partners to improve the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information

3. AI and Automated Processing
Aura uses artificial intelligence to enhance your experience. Specifically:
- Personality Analysis: Your quiz responses and profile information are processed by our AI to build a personality profile used for matching.
- Chemistry Scoring: Our AI analyzes compatibility factors (communication style, values, humor, lifestyle) between you and potential matches to generate Chemistry Scores.
- Match Recommendations: We use algorithmic and AI-driven matching to curate your daily matches based on your preferences, personality, and behavior patterns.
These automated processes help us provide better matches but do not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. You can always choose which matches to engage with, regardless of scores or recommendations.
4. Voice Data
Voice is central to the Aura experience. Here is how we handle your voice data:
- Voice Intros: Recorded by you and shared with potential matches as part of your profile. You can re-record or delete your voice intro at any time.
- Pod Date Conversations: Pod Date voice conversations are conducted in real-time and are not recorded or stored by Aura unless you explicitly opt in to a future recording feature. We do not listen to or monitor your live conversations.
- Voice Processing: We do not use your voice data to create voice prints, biometric identifiers, or for any purpose other than facilitating the dating experience.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With Other Users: Your profile information (name, age, voice intro, photos after reveal, interests) is visible to users you are matched with, as part of the core dating experience.
- Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors who help us operate the Service, including cloud hosting (database and storage providers), analytics, payment processing (via app stores), and customer support tools. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Subscription Management: We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives your anonymous user identifier and purchase data from the app store — not your personal profile information.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Aura, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes or enforcing our terms).
Voice intros are deleted when you delete your account or replace them. Pod Date conversations are not stored.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), encrypted storage for sensitive data, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information in your profile.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
- Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications and push notifications via your device settings.
- Location: Revoke location permissions through your device settings at any time. This may limit the ability to show you nearby matches.
- Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

9. Cookies and Tracking (Web)
Our website (auradating.us) may use essential cookies for functionality and analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking on our website. The Aura mobile app does not use cookies.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
11. Children's Privacy
Aura is strictly for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
