Our Commitment
Aura is a dating platform designed exclusively for adults aged 18 and over. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. The safety and protection of minors is a fundamental priority, and we are committed to preventing our platform from being used to harm, exploit, or endanger children in any way.
Age Verification
All users must confirm they are at least 18 years of age during account registration. We employ the following measures to enforce this requirement:
- Date of birth collection during onboarding with automated age verification.
- Immediate suspension and removal of accounts determined to belong to individuals under 18.
- Right to request additional verification at any time if there is reason to believe a user may be underage.
Content Moderation
We actively monitor and moderate content on our platform to detect and remove any material that depicts, promotes, or facilitates the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors. Our approach includes:
- Automated detection systems to identify and flag prohibited content.
- Human review of flagged content by trained moderation staff.
- Immediate removal of any content that violates our policies.
- Permanent suspension of accounts found to be in violation.
Reporting Mechanisms
Aura provides in-app reporting tools that allow any user to report suspected CSAE content or behavior. Reports can be submitted through:
- The in-app "Report" button available on every user profile and in every conversation.
- Email to our safety team at safety@aura-app.com.
All reports involving potential CSAE are treated as highest priority and are reviewed immediately.
Law Enforcement Cooperation
Aura cooperates fully with law enforcement agencies and relevant authorities. When we identify or receive reports of CSAE material or behavior, we:
- Report incidents to NCMEC (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children) via CyberTipline as required by U.S. law.
- Preserve relevant evidence and account data for law enforcement investigations.
- Respond promptly to valid legal requests and subpoenas.
- Report to regional and national authorities as required by applicable laws in all jurisdictions where we operate.
Staff Training
All team members involved in content moderation, user safety, and customer support receive training on identifying and responding to CSAE. This training covers:
- Recognition of CSAE indicators and grooming behaviors.
- Proper handling and escalation procedures for CSAE reports.
- Legal obligations and reporting requirements.
- Victim-centered approaches to safety enforcement.
Prohibited Conduct
The following activities are strictly prohibited on Aura and will result in immediate account termination and reporting to authorities:
- Sharing, distributing, or soliciting child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
- Grooming or soliciting minors for sexual purposes.
- Any attempt to use the platform to contact, exploit, or endanger minors.
- Misrepresenting one's age to circumvent our age requirements.
